This is another itinerary with special appeal to trekkers who prefer to pursue a lonely path, rather than spending time in crowded villages. Jugal Himal is situated north-east of Kathmandu and the area is studded with small Tamang settlements set amind the dense forest vegetation.
This fantastic trek begins at Chautara, about five hours’ drive from Kathmandu, with an ascent of a series of terraced and forested ridges. At the heart of this trek are the ‘Panch Pokhari,’ the five holy lakes, situated at 14,000 feet, which have great breathtaking beauty.
This is an extremely tranquil trail, giving you great mountain views, green Himalayan ranges and running rivers with waterfalls.
Because this is a remote region, there is a lack of lodge and shelter facilities, so trekking is only for those who are prepared to camp.
