Classic Everest Base Camp Trek

Maximum altitude: 5545 meters

Duration of trek: 21 days with accommodations in mountain lodges

This is an adaptation of the Everest Base Camp trek for those who have enough time to trek to Lukla overland, rather than flying.

The beginning of this trek retraces the route of the earliest Everest expeditions through beautiful Alpine scenery. Most people find the extra seven days truly delightful, as well as providing good insight into traditions and lifestyles of the Tamang, Kami, Brahmin, Kshetri and Sherpa people who live here.

The overnight stop at Junbesi, Solu Khumbu’s oldest Sherpa settlement, is a real highlight. An hour’s hike above Junbesi is Tupten Chholing monastery, with the villages of Mabung and Pangkarma making for pleasant stops along the way.

From Lukla we follow the itinerary described in the details of our 14-day Everest Base Camp trek.
